Taiwo Abosede Adamson is Medical Director, Ishwot Consulting Hospital, a private mental health and substance abuse treatment facility. She was formerly Medical Director and Provost Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta. A Hubert Humphrey/NIDA International Fellowship Alumni in Substance Abuse, she has served as consultant to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on the evaluation of care facilities across Nigeria.

She is examiner in undergraduate and postgraduate psychiatry, has held memberships of expert committees of the Federal Ministry of Health on integrating mental health into primary health care, and the mental health bill. She has also served as resource person for the World Health Organization and the UNODC on mental health and substance use disorders. She has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in substance use disorders and mental health and over 50 presentations at scientific conferences and seminars.
