The Nigerian Society of Addiction Medicine is a national society of medical professionals and scientists united in the mission of helping Nigerians understand, accept, and recover from substance use disorders.
What we do

Education
We believe that education is key to transforming society. Therefore, educating policy makers, health workers, leaders in government, and lay Nigerians about the prevention, assessment, and treatment of substance use disorders in our communities. We achieve this through in-person and virtual conferences, training workshops, facilitated research and supporting key policy and guideline development.
Standards
NSAM provides technical support through her members and committees towards national and state-based guidelines and standards. NSAM is focused on curriculum development at undergraduate and graduate medical settings. Standards are key to ensuring that service users get the best available care wherever they might need it. Â Â
Community
NSAM provides a platform for professionals to network, collaborate and share ideas, resources, and experiences.
